Terms of business

These terms apply to advice and services provided by Stan Hunter, trading as StanWorks. A written quote for each piece of work sets out scope, price and timescale, and takes precedence over anything here if the two differ.

The free discovery call

The first 20-minute call is free and carries no obligation on either side. Face-to-face first meetings in Southport are also free; travel elsewhere may be quoted.

Quotes and payment

Work is quoted at a fixed price or a monthly rate before it starts. Projects are usually invoiced 50% on acceptance and 50% on delivery. Monthly services are invoiced in advance. Payment is due within 14 days. Prices exclude third-party costs such as software subscriptions, domains and call minutes, which are agreed with you first.

Advice

Advice is given in good faith based on the information you provide and on how AI tools behave at the time. AI output must be checked before use, and I will tell you where that matters most. Advice is not legal, financial or medical advice; those need a regulated professional.

Ownership

Once paid for, deliverables such as websites, code, documents and content belong to you. Tools, templates and know-how I bring to the work remain mine and may be reused for other clients.

Cancellation

Meetings can be moved or cancelled by replying to the confirmation email. Monthly services can be cancelled with one month's notice. Projects cancelled part-way are invoiced for work completed.

Liability

My liability for any piece of work is limited to the fees paid for that work. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
